A layer cake. A bright, sunshiney day.

What else was I supposed to make, but a picnic quilt?

I tried to put this one together in a way that would be easy for a beginning quilter to get some practice with applique. See, I know applique intimidates new quilters, and I thought if they could do the same shapes several times, on a small piece of fabric, that might make the process easier.

You can make this. I know you can.
